HumanDHS is joyfully growing at an exponential rate! At the same time, we are forging new ways of working in the world, especially when it comes to developing our social and economic resources. As the recent global economic crisis taught us, organizations driven by the “profit motive” generate humiliating practices and conditions that damage and destroy relationships at all levels of our society. The HumanDHS community can do better!

Announcing the Global Education Fund!

We are excited to announce the establishment of the HumanDHS Global Education Fund! We believe this Fund will strengthen all aspects of our efforts to influence policies, practices, research, and interventions. Education is our pathway to equal dignity and peace!

Two Powerful Principles

This Fund will be a model of sustainable relational, economic, and environmental practices guided by two powerful principles:

1. Relationships come first—we can all grow by supporting the growth of others!
2. Money must serve, but not lead our collaborative efforts!

Three Noble Goals

With the help of you and our larger community, this fund will achieve the following goals:

• Develop compelling e-learning programs for individuals, groups, and communities around the world!
• Provide scholarships to individuals from diverse backgrounds or distant locations who would otherwise not be able to participate in our events!
• Create educational materials, learning tools, and other resources to be used by a global community!

New Words for Our New Fund!

Over the years, members of the HumanDHS community have lovingly invested themselves in ways that never cease to amaze us! Inspired by this devotion, we are compelled to invent new words to describe and honor the loyal and selfless participation of our members.

Sharegivers: Investing in a Global Vision!

Sharegivers invest in our community by contributing “monetary gifts” to support the growth and development of HumanDHS (e.g., providing scholarships, sponsoring a conference, providing funding for conference expenses, such as printing, nametags, programs, etc.).

We welcome and honor all who generously share their economic resources as HumanDHS "Sharegivers"! We warmly invite you to become a Founding Sharegiver today!

Careholders: Cultivating a Global Vision!

HumanDHS community members are passionate about investing themselves through “action gifts.” These are gifts of time, energy, and effort that advance our collaborative work in ways that we never thought possible (e.g., hosting 14 conferences, proofreading and editing new publications, printing materials, assisting with electronic communications, posting electronic announcements, leading a project, presenting and facilitating conference activities, developing a program, etc.).

Those who invest in our community through action gifts are honored “Careholders” of our global vision! We warmly invite you to become a Founding Careholder today!

Sharegivers-Careholders: A Loving Appreciation!

We especially want to recognize the members of our community who—over the years—have lovingly participated in our community as both "Sharegivers" and "Careholders"!! For one example, in addition to actively participating in our 2008 Workshop on Humiliation and Violent Conflict in New York City, many members of our community contributed to the purchase of a new computer when Evelin’s laptop died unexpectedly! Your devotion to this work takes our breath away!
